Interior Smart working with St Meriadoc Junior School to further the school’s green credentials.
It’s a simple enough project, installing a bicycle shed at St Meriadoc’s School, but it’s made a tremendous difference to the children’s enthusiasm for school, making it safer for pedestrians, reducing congestion and pollution and making the school run times easier for parents and neighbours.
Project – St Meriadoc Junior’s in Camborne selected Interior Smart to supply and install a secure steel bicycle rack to house up to 30 bikes, to enable staff and parents to leave their cars behind and keep their bikes safe and dry.
Planning – Interior Smart produced full plans to detail the size and location of the bike storage unit. They recommended and supplied a six metre cycle rack with gates, ensuring its suitability giving particular thought to its size (both in terms of capacity and ease of use for children aged 7-11 years), sturdiness and security features.
Delivering – Interior Smart worked with full regard to site safety while the school term was in progress, laying a concrete base and installing the bike rack. Lynn Stevenson, School secretary says, “Interior Smart was extremely efficient and reliable, completing the project on time and in budget. I’d have no hesitation in recommending them to others.”
The school is delighted to report the bike rack is full on most days and it is standing up well to the wear and tear. Having recently completed Bike wise training and the summer on its way they expect pupils will continue to ‘get on their bikes’ for the rest of the school year.
