Interior Smart has worked with Nuon Renewables for more than ten years. Interior Smart was brought in to assist Nuon when the company was thinking about relocating from Long Rock Industrial Estate to Abbey Warehouse in Penzance.

Project Nuon Renewables, a forward thinking and environmentally concerned business that develops of wind farms, required Interior Smart’s full office relocation service. This included a site survey, interior office design, project planning and management, co-ordinating and carrying out the work as well as full office removals.

Interior Smart worked closely with Nuon over a 12 month period to achieve a seamless relocation. Together they have optimised the space available to provide state of the art workspace, conference and meeting room facilities and, for the hard working staff at Nuon , a chill out area and well equipped kitchen.

Interior Smart assisted Nuon from the outset of this project, from initially helping to decide if the move was commercially advantageous and would benefit staff, to giving an overview of the timings, logisitics and costs.

Planning - Interior Smart helped Nuon make the most of the new location, improving external access and lighting and optimising the use of space within the new premises. The team at Interior Smart used their extensive commercial space and office interior design experience in planning high-spec partitioned offices, meeting rooms and a staff chill out area and fully equipped kitchen.

In addition to this, Interior Smart also carried out much of the behind the scenes planning, including the extensive replacement of gas work and plumbing, and the installation of state of the art lighting, IT data-cabling and a high capacity mobile racking system for the archive storage room.

Delivering – A great result delivered safely, on time, in budget and with minimal disruption.

Interior Smart planned Nuon’s move so work could be completed with minimum disruption and for Nuon’s staff it was business as usual. They managed all the logistics of the relocation, including the packing, transporting, unpacking and assembling of furniture, equipment and office files, right down to the plants and pictures.

To keep costs to a minimum they re-used a high proportion of existing furniture and removed any redundant items.
