Interior Smart was always there to help Firegrass Communications in taking the bold step from being, quite literally, a cottage industry to taking up high tech office space in the Pool Innovation Centre.

Project - Award winning PR practitioner Shelley Fletcher had been operating her newly established marketing and PR consultancy, Firegrass Communications, from her home office for some eight months. But with an increasing portfolio, doing more for existing businesses and getting new clients on board, she had to size-up and ship out to modern, flexible and high spec office accommodation.

Pool Innovation Centre (PIC) was the ideal location. It is designed specifically for new and growing businesses, offering not just accommodation but a client-focused, supportive professional service that encourages growth and innovative. And Interior Smart has established an excellent reputation and relationships to help get new business in to PIC with cost effective interior solutions and minimum disruption.

Planning – Firegrass, a PR and marketing business that has bold, iconic branding, needed this strong identity to be carried consistently into the look and feel of its new office. But as a young business, that prides itself on being affordable and results driven, this had to be achieved on a budget. The office ‘wish list’ needed a lot from a relatively small space; firstly it needed to accommodate Shelley and her ‘hot-desking’ associates. It also had to provide both a formal and informal meeting space for clients, so they could just ‘drop in’ to bounce ideas or get around a table to discuss the detail of PR plans or at the other end, evaluate its effectiveness. Interior Smart took the brief and generated a range of options for the layout, equipment and execution of the big move.

Delivering – Interior Smart helped Shelley plan the office to optimise the space and select equipment that would look great and would perform well. Interior Smart supplied furniture, including desks and dividing boards, chairs, a book case and storage unit as well as a meeting table that reflects the Firegrass ‘personality’ being bright, confident and professional. Shelley was delighted with the result. However within a matter of months Shelley had to go back to Interior Smart as she needed to move again, to a bigger office within PIC. Interior Smart again took up the brief with great enthusiasm. They selected new furniture for staff Shelley had recently recruited and helped her move to a larger office.
