Interior Smart was appointed by St Uny Diocesan to transform an ICT suite to provide a multi-function classroom, with state of the art teaching tools and kitchen facilities as well as improving access, light and space.

Project - Interior Smart was selected by competitive tender to reinstate a former classroom that had been set up as ICT suite to provide a bright, modern, fully equipped classroom which would fully endure the wear and tear from energetic and enthusiastic Year 3 and 4 pupils. Interior Smart worked closely with the Diocesan’s architect to design and deliver a fantastic new classroom that was extremely child friendly with better access, important safety features and full IT facilities. The funky design has been a great hit with the pupils.

Planning – Interior Smart provided full project management for the refit, from careful planning to make the most of the space available, co-ordinating and overseeing extensive physical works and redecoration to ultimately supplying and installing a projector screen, Smartboard and new classroom furniture.

Interior Smart’s project management remained very customer focussed throughout, accommodating changes in the specification during the work, as the project evolved while they were on site.

Delivery – staff and pupils alike are delighted with their new classroom. The bright, modern classroom belies the amount of work Interior Smart has managed. This included the demolition of an external wall to install new double-glazed patio doors, improving access to and natural light in the classroom. The class room was the extensively re-wired for an anti-scald water boiler in the kitchen area and the new state-of-the-art IT equipment. With safety being of paramount importance Interior Smart installed non-slip flooring in the kitchen and specialist durable carpet flooring in the remainder of the classroom.

Interior Smart has been awarded further work at St Uny School to refit the children’s toilets throughout the school in the Easter holidays.
